I wanted a wicker basket a table decoration. It is a beautifully made basket.Used for a snack basket on our kitchen islandI had to return this because it was a bit small for my needs for storage. It’s nicely made and appears that it would last for a long time.Served the purpose just right!Quality is goodThis is a great snack and fruit basket to set on your kitchen island, but it is not real wicker. Keep that in mind if you are looking for a few baskets. It can easily fit a bag of cuties, or several single serving bags of snacks. The plastic weave actually makes it washable, which is good when you have forgotten fruit, or children who start to eat something and then put it back. You can stick this basket under the sink and then dry it off without it changing the structure of the basket at all. This basket is not made of the material I was expecting - it’s a somewhat flexible plastic that looks like wicker but isn’t. Very cute though, certainly more durable than a real wicker woven basket. It holds a lot more than I was expecting it to, and looks great as decor!I have a young child and often end up needing to do small repairs on her clothes or toys. Since I haven’t had a good place to put them, I’d been parking them on any available space I could find around my desk. Things can get cluttered pretty quickly, especially when I’m busy and can’t get to the mending right away. This basket fits perfectly on my little side table/storage. It looks so much more homey to have a little “mending basket” than just dumping them into whatever cardboard box I have laying around. The measurements provided in the description are accurate. It’s a good size and would work nicely for a range of storage needs. I like the weave pattern used, and the color suits my tastes perfectly. Though I try to go for more eco-friendly and natural items when I can, I have to admit I prefer the poly-wicker used to create this basket. I don’t tend to buy real wicker since it doesn’t have great durability in my opinion; I got scratches from broken wicker parts too often growing up. This basket feels quite sturdy and well-made so I expect to be able to use it for a long time, and the artificial material used is very realistic. I don’t feel like I’m looking at a hunk of plastic, and I think it’s because they took care to add a texture to the poly wicker, and beyond that, it’s actually woven with the synthetic material and not just plastic that was simply given a “woven” look through injection molding. I like the extra touch of creating a slight curve at the base of the basket as well. It gives really good support and seems to prevent the middle from sagging if you put heavier items in.I’m sure I’ll find a lot more uses for this when needed: It would work great as a serving basket during a party or even just to carry things from one room to another. If I do decide to use it in food service at some point, I like the fact that I can feel safe washing it both beforehand and then afterward without worrying about plant materials going soggy.
