Makes perfect rice every time with basically a one-button operation. Perfect for those where one button is all they need. it does have another very useful button through and that is for Brown Rice. Too bad no option for Porridge which would have made it PERFECT. It will brown the bottom of the rice ever so slightly. For the price-to-quality ratio, I am not complaining whatsoever.I also love the very small footprint this cooker has. It is narrow and deep, appearing even slimmer than it already is.As Asians love rice, it is important that rice is cooked to perfection. This rice cooker is the best solution to perfect rice. Happy with this purchaseThis is a great rice cooker, I use it every day (we do love our rice in this family ?). Very low effort, and rice turns out perfect literally every time. I bought it specifically just for making rice but I also found the other functions pretty useful. The boil/steam function is great for soups or steaming something (we usually just steam some frozen dumplings/wontons). And the synchro cooking function is extremely timesaving. We usually make some kind of tofu or a veggie dish in the tray.Love this thing.Easy and quick to set up and doesn't take up alot of space. It very convenient, just set and forget. Easy fill lines and cooks rice well. Carry handle is convenient and looks cohesive with other appliances.Cleans very easy, I noticed I don’t get stuck rice to the bottom anymore since upgrading from our old rice maker to this oneSo much faster than other rice cookers snd so easy to clean!I don’t know what it is about an Asian rice cooker vs. any others but it should just be a staple in any home ! It’s fantastic ! easy to use, rice (all types of rice) comes out perfect every time.Big fans! This rice cooker is so easy to use and very well made. Fits a lot of rice and cooks evenly. Super easy to clean. The spatula holder is a nice bonus! As a Vancouver man, rice and asian cuisine is just a part of my life. I cook a lot of rice, and until splurging on this Tiger rice cooker, I was using a pretty cheap brand. The Tiger is just so much better in every way, and is very worth the money for anyone that cooks a lot of rice, and is tired of cheaper rice cookers drying out the rice on the bottom and borderline burning it.The only issue I've had with the Tiger rice cooker is the steamer. It almost works too fast, at least if you like your veggies to still have some firmness to them. If I select the synchro-cooking option and do like rice with steamed broccoli, I find that I need to take the broccoli out early, or risk oversteaming it and losing all the crunch and snap of veggies. The benefit of this though is that I'm able to steam multiple batches of broccoli within the same time window for cooking the rice. I do however wish that the veggie holder for steaming was a bit deeper so that I could steam more veggies at the same time. But it's not really a big deal when you're just cooking for a couple people. If you want a high quality rice cooker, the Tiger is the way to go. They are not cheap, but the quality of rice produced is just so much better than what you get from a cheap rice cooker. Believe me, Tiger is worth the investment.Makes great rice. Convenient and consistent. Everything you expect from a Tiger. Some things that I would hope for improvement, but I'm happy with regardless - (1) takes a bit longer than my old conventional rice cooker, (2) no sound indicator to inform of cooking complete, (3) there is no water trap/dew collector, and the design is such that it just pools into the frame of the machine, which in the long run gets a bit gross.Using plain long grain white rice, my results have been mixed. The rice comes out almost al dente when following the exact measurements it calls for so I’ve had to use a bit more water. This is frustrating because part of the reason I’m using a rice cooker is to make this process simple and not have to do any guesswork. Also, the lid swings opens really fast, so fast that it causes the unit to jump back when the lid finally comes to a halt. I have to use my hand to stop it mid-swing and then let it finish opening gently, but this can be dangerous when hot steam is rapidly coming out of the sides and from the top vent at the end of a cooking cycle. Contacted Tiger and they said this is normal; unfortunately it’s also a poor design choice. I also really wish there was an audio signal to let me know when the cooking cycle ends.I had my original one for about 7 years (same model and size) which I used 2-3 times per week. It still worked perfectly until it was accidentally knocked off the table and cracked the plastic shell around the inner metal cooking element a few weeks ago. I was devastated as it’s not an easy model to find. I was thrilled to find the exact same model and size here on Amazon for a great price and ordered it immediately and it arrived within a few days. I highly recommend this rice cooker to anyone it is amazing and cooks perfect rice every time. I find the 10 cup is great for a family of 4 as I always like to make extra for lunches.I did a lot of research before buying this little guy. It's a perfect size for 2- 4 servings. I use it to make plain and brown rice. Both turn out perfect. I've also tried making lentil in this and not too bad- you have to play around with the water amount. I like the steamer basket too- just don't add the vegetables to soon as it cooks quite quick! I've had it for a few years and so far my favourite appliance.
